Drink PINK

photo3I love this Victoria Secret PINK water bottle and take it absolutely everywhere with me, and I know that each time I finish one of these, it means that I’ve drunk a whole litre of water. Victoria Secret PINK do the nicest gym gear and gym accessories, and seeing as I love pink, this bottle was a necessity for my gym kit! 

Keeping hydrated is KEY to weight loss, and so I try to drink 2 to 3 litres of water a day or more if I can as this helps my skin to stay spot free, and makes me feel full so that I don’t snack in between meals. I’ve come across a great article on Cosmopolitan about the benefits of drinking lots during the day, and these are a few of my favourites:

Weight Loss

Drinking water is believed to be an effective appetite suppressant, where by drinking more, you’re less likely to feel hungry and will eat less because it fills you up. Dehydration also makes it harder for your body to break down fat cells so if you don’t drink enough water, you may find it harder to lose weight.

Metabolism Booster

Drinking half a litre of water within 30-40 minutes can increase how fast your body burns calories by up to 30%.

Exercise Better 

Water helps to fuel your muscles, so drinking before or during exercise will boost energy, as well as reduce the likelihood of cramps and sprains.

Younger Skin

Research suggests that drinking water combats dry skin by flushing out toxins and bacteria, and so the more you drink, the appearance of skin will improve to leave you glowing.

I love water, but if you’re not a fan of it, you can play around with adding different fruits to flavour it up. Try cucumber and mint or perhaps add a slice of lemon and ice to your bottle as this is great for your immune system and reduces bloating!
