Whilst this post isn’t directly fitness related, although I must say that the gym here was pretty epic, it’s so important to relax your body and indulge in a pamper every now and again to tend to your muscles and help to give you a clear peace of mind.
Having just finished working in London for a year, Mum and I visited the Stoke Park Spa, and I must say we were treated like royalty. From arrival, we carefully selected a healthy lunch from a healthy menu, and were soon taken through to state-of-the-art treatment changing rooms, complete with robes and slippers. After a hardcore gym session in one of the best gyms I’ve ever been to, it was time to chill-out in the peaceful atrium with a Hello! magazine and healthy snacks. Then came lunch, and boy did they deliver. My Chicken Caesar Salad was cooked to perfection, and a fruit plater with mango sorbet for dessert was full of refreshing deliciousness.
With more chill-out time in the bag, it was time to hit the beauty rooms for a full-on, two hour pamper session. After an hour-long full body massage, my muscle soreness and aches from my workouts had been relieved with a combination of pressure massage and the delightful heated bed, I was ready for my facial. Being a sufferer of bad skin, I was apprehensive of the lotions and potions that would be used on my already sensitive face, as sometimes these can lead to flair-ups, but I came out glowing, and even now, days later, I still have that post-pamper glow.
After 11 hours of gymming, relaxing, eating, relaxing, pampering, and yes, some more relaxing, it was time to head home, but not before a complimentary gift of Thalgo Oceane Revitalising Shower Gel from the product range that was used in the facial. Retailing at £12.50, this little dream is perfect for dry skin and helps to keep your body soft.
Expensive it may be, but if you really want to look after your health and learn to love yourself again, sometimes you just have to splurge a little bit, and the Stoke Park Spa is the place to do it!
